Podstawowym celem analiz przedstawionych w artykule jest określenie ilości emitowanego CO₂, która powstała w Polsce i Niemczech w wyniku produkcji sektorów przemysłowych przeznaczonej na handel pomiędzy tymi krajami.

The paper presents the impact of trade in products of industrial sectors between Poland and Germany on the CO₂ emission in these countries in 2008. The methodology used in the study is based on input-output approach and calculates emission embodied in bilateral trade (EEBT). The results indicates that the Polish-German trade contributed to the creation of more than 20 Mt of CO₂ on both sides of the border. In Poland, the trade resulted in significantly higher emission than in Germany, despite the Germany’s trade surplus in the balance of trade of these countries.
