This article describes synchronous motors with permanent magnets (PMSM) in accordance to IE4 and IE5 norm. First part briefly takes into consideration current IE4 and future IE5 norm requirements as well as IE3. In the second part of article design software and motor goemetry could be seen. Last, third part shows and compares design results and real motor test results. Also some tips for future are shown.
