Abstrakty

Terroryzm lotniczy stanowi obecnie jedno z największych zagrożeń bezpieczeństwa wewnętrznego państw Unii Europejskiej, Izraela oraz USA. Szczególną aktywność w tym obszarze wykazują islamskie ugrupowania terrorystyczne, wśród których prym wiedzie Al-Kaida. W artykule tym syntetycznie przedstawiono genezę i ewolucję terroryzmu lotniczego, przyczyny sięgnięcia po metody terrorystyczne przez radykalne ugrupowania islamskie (Al-Kaida), opisano i dokonano analizy operacji terrorystycznych zaplanowanych i przeprowadzonych przez Al-Kaidę na przestrzeni ostatnich 10 lat (po zamachach z 11 września 2001 r.) oraz nakreślono na tej podstawie prawdopodobne kierunki ewolucji terroryzmu lotniczego.

Air terrorism is presently one of the greatest threats to the internal security of European Union countries, Israel and the USA. Particularly active in the area are Islamic terrorist groups, with Al-Qaeda being in the lead. The article: • contains the synthetic description of origin and evolution of air terrorism, • enumerates reasons for which radical Islamic groups ( Al-Qaeda ) applied terrorist methods, • describes and analyses terrorist actions planned and carried out by Al-Qaeda within the last 10 years ( after the attacks of 11th September, 2001 ) • outlines probable directions in which air terrorism can develop.
