Abstrakty
This study points to the case of women who, to put an end to perceived discrimination, will try to conceal their identity to identify with the dominant group, i.e., identification, at the risk of losing their identity. The moral is that women’s denial of the right to be different could result in other consequences, although they must be proud of themselves and work with this. For this purpose, quantitative research was conducted in five Tunisian banks and analysed using AMOS_SEM. The results indicated that identification significantly and negatively affects perceived discrimination and significantly and positively affects identity concealment, which ultimately significantly and negatively affects perceived discrimination. Furthermore, the relationship between identification and perceived discrimination remained significant after introducing identity concealment as a mediator. Therefore, mediation by identity concealment was found to be partial between identification and perceived discrimination. The results of this study present several implications for scholars and senior management in the banking industry.
