The purpose of this paper is to compare the levels of efficiency of Polish and Spanish textile and clothing firms. The analyses were based on firm-level accounting data for the time period 1998-2001. Interestingly, for the period analyzed we did not find any statistically significant differences between the efficiency of Polish and Spanish textile/clothing firms. The general result of this study shows that firms in both countries are, on average, relatively highly efficient in their production processes. The efficiency score reaches a level of 86%.

Celem tego artykułu jest porównanie poziomu wydajności polskich i hiszpańskich firm tekstylnych i odzieżowych. Analizę przeprowadzono na podstawie danych zebranych z ankietowania firm w okresie 1998/2001. Interesującym jest, że w analizowanym okresie nie stwierdzono żadnych statystycznie istotnych różnic pomiędzy wydajnością firm polskich i hiszpańskich. Ogólnie stwierdzono, że firmy tekstylne i odzieżowe w obydwu krajach wykazują przeciętnie podobną stosunkowo wysoką wydajność procesów produkcyjnych. Wydajność osiąga poziom 86%.
