A rapid technical development that took place in recent years and a great number of information sources applied in combat operations caused that the notion of „electronic warfare”, binding in Western publications, has gained a crucial importance. At present it includes not only using data carried out through electromagnetic field but acoustic one as well. Electronic warfare of this kind can be faced in sea operations. The article presents the significance of some selective aspects of electronic warfare in modem sea operations, probable areas of operation and suggestions how to fight against maritime elements of Russia’s sonar reconnaissance system.
