Last year we celebrated the 470th anniversary of the death of one of the greatest geniuses of mankind and the anniversary of his famous work, "De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium" (Copernicus, 1972) published in 1543; the work which marked the beginning of a new era and development of science. Trough his heliocentric theory Copernicus expanded limited universe of Middle Ages from so called "Eight sphere" to infinity. In order to ensure that astronomical observations agreed with the reality, Copernicus created a theory consistent with the objective system of the universe. Only much later this theory was confirmed trough phenomena of parallax and aberration of starlight. Recognizing the alignment of the astronomical theory with actual observations Copernicus was the first to apply the rule of correspondence, adopted later in scientific theories.
