Laboratory tests, pilot tests and field implementation of hydrogen sulfide membrane separation from natural gas are carried wordwide out on withan increasing scale. These works have intensified since the economic profitability of using this method as the first stage (before the amine installation) in the process of hybrid removal of the acid gas stream from natural gas has been demonstrated [Bhide, 1998]. The streams with high hydrogen sulfide content obtained from both stages can be combined and injected back into the reservoir to enhance hydrocarbon reovery. Single-stage membrane systems are sufficient for gas containing more than 12% H2S, for gases with lover H2S content a two-stage cascade system is suggested.
