Abstrakty
The article presents research proceedings whose aim is to define fire service potential effectiveness in the city space. The spatial scope of the analysis comprises the city of Łódź and a 20-kilometre ring around it which was introduced in order to avoid an artificial barrier in the form of a city boundary. The research comprises all fire departments localized on this area as well as individual elements of its development which may be connected with interventions of firefighters. The use of the ArcMap Network Analyst tool and the 2SFCA method allowed to specify time accessibility of fire service operations, spatial accessibility of individual elements of the city development to fire service activities, the load of individual fire stations and minimal numbers of departments necessary to take action with the assumption of defined arrival time for intervention.
