PL

Za jeden z najtrudniejszych problemów ochrony środowiska związanych z rozwojem rolnictwa uważa się zanieczyszczenie azotanami. Ich źródłem jest przede wszystkim niewłaściwe gospodarowanie naturalnymi i mineralnymi nawozami oraz nieprawidłowy sposób postępowania z płynnymi odchodami zwierząt hodowlanych. W 1991 roku w Unii Europejskiej (UE) wprowadzono dyrektywę 91/676/EWG w sprawie ochrony wód przed zanieczyszczeniem azotanami pochodzenia rolniczego. Zobowiązuje ona kraje członkowskie do podejmowania działań mających zapewnić skuteczną ochronę środowiska przed azotanami. Polska, jako członek UE, musi wdrożyć wszystkie wymagania tego aktu prawnego.

The requirement of accession nations to adopt EU legislation, in particular the Nitrates Directive (91/676/EEC), has elevated the issue of nitrate pollution of water by agriculture to one of considerable political significance in Poland and other accession countries. This paper reports on the problems of implementation of the selected requirements of the directive - construction of tanks for manure in Ostroleka poviat. Conducted studies shown that Poland has to be more active on this field if want to fulfil the main objective of the directive protection of environment against the nitrates.
