The aim of the paper is to give the general overview of the mobile platform designed for remote data acquisition. The idea of remote sensing units is nowadays extensively exploited in many fields of interest. The paper presents the basic assumptions stated before the construction phase as well as extemporaneous solutions that were introduced during the building phase. Finally the working prototype of the platform is presented with a brief summary of achieved functionalities. The presented unit may be easily adapted for educational purposes making a beneficial example of robotics appliance. Following sections of the paper present the most crucial parts of the project: control panel, radio communication, control system, and sensing modules.
