Celem niniejszego artykułu było przedstawienie empirycznych dowodów na predykcyjną rolę kompetencji emocjonalnych i społecznych w wyjaśnianiu efektywności stylów kierowania polskich menedżerów. Rezultaty badań wykazały, że są zależności między badanymi kompetencjami a różnymi stylami kierowania. Ponadto kompetencje emocjonalne i społeczne menedżerów różnią się w zależności od warunków organizacyjnych i cech podmiotowych. Rezultaty prezentowanych badań uzupełniają wiedzę w zakresie podmiotowych determinant procesów maksymalizacji efektywności zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi w organizacji.

The aim of this article was to present the predictive role of emotional and social competencies in explaining the effectiveness of leadership styles of Polish managers. Empirical results showed that there are significant relationships between analyzed competencies and different leadership styles. Moreover, emotional and social competencies of managers differ depending on organizational conditions well as on personal factors. Results of the following research contribute to the body of knowledge of individual determinants for processes of maximizing effectiveness of human resource management.
