Omówiono technologie zbioru korzeni buraków cukrowych z uwzględnieniem parametrów, które w warunkach belgijskich decydują o spełnieniu wymagań jakościowych: organizacja zbioru, zanieczyszczenie i uszkodzenia korzeni, koszty zbioru. Wykazano, że koszty zbioru są w znaczący sposób określane kosztami robocizny, a powierzchnia do zbioru powinna wynosić powyżej 200 ha, dla zbioru zestawami lub kombajnami z zbiornikiem o ładowności 25 m3 lub 300 ha dla kombajnów z zbiornikiem o ładowności 40 m3.

The technologies of harvesting sugar beet roots were discussed with special attention put on the parameters such as organization of the harvest, impurities and damages of the roots, harvesting costs, that are crucial for fulfilling the qualitative requirements under conditions of Belgian farming. It was shown that the costs of harvesting are strongly influenced by the labour costs. The acreage of harvested crop should be at least 200 ha at using the machine sets or sugar beet harvesters with a hopper of 25 m3 capacity, or at least 300 ha when the use of harvesters fitted with a hopper of 40 m3 capacity is provided.
