Weather and plant vegetation data gathered by the observation net of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management in Warsaw were used to describe agrometeorological conditions in spring and summer of the year 2002. The probability of lower rainfall than the real sum in during periods with their highest shortage, and climatic water balance in May and June as well as in the second and third quarter of the year in Poland were defined. In the regions with the highest precipitation shortage water balance values were lower than 110 mm in May and in August.
