The article analyzes the recent researches in the field of flow meter survey concerning measurement of flow or volume of natural gas with simultaneous consideration of the quality parameters of operation conditions. There is improved an optical method for measuring the main components of natural gas, and offered its technical implementation in order to provide calculation of the natural gas considering its energy content. A mathematical model of the partial flow meter based on the Pitot tube, witch takes into consideration the quality parameters of the operation environment, has been developed. The effect of the component composition of natural gas on the partial flow meter operation has been studied in the article.
