Czy niejednoznaczność roli i stres zawodowy kształtują zachowania związane z cyberloafingiem w indonezyjskim szkolnictwie wyższym?

Cyberloafing behavior in the digital era is strenuous to control, obliging organizations’ sensitivity in managing their employees. Cyberloafing can be triggered by role conflict, role ambiguity, and work stress. This study aims to investigate the interplay of role conflict, work stress, and cyberloafing moderated by role ambiguity among staff members at a higher education institution in Papua, Indonesia. Using the general strain theory, this study used a cross-sectional design to collect data from sampled 280 employees selected by proportional simple random sampling. The results reveal that role conflict significant and positive affect on work stress and cyberloafing, where work stress is significant and positive affects on cyberloafing. A notable finding shows that role ambiguity is crucial in strengthening cyberloafing behavior. However, role ambiguity is not significant strengthening effect of work stress on cyberloafing. The implications of this research indicate the vital role of role conflict in increasing the work stress and cyberloafing and demonstrates that work stress predicts cyberloafing more accurately than role conflict. The findings also shed additional insight and highlights that role ambiguity does not significantly strengthen the effect of work stress on cyberloafing. The current study conveys significant attention to managing cyberloafing behavior, considering that this behavior is barely visible by establishing clear standard procedures in the workplace to diminish role ambiguity.
Zachowanie cyberloafingu w erze cyfrowej jest stosunkowo trudne do kontrolowania, co wymaga od firm wrażliwości w zarządzaniu pracownikami. Cyberloafing może być spowodowany konfliktem ról, niejednoznacznością ról i stresem zawodowym. Niniejsze badanie identyfikuje czynniki, które wpływają na angażowanie się pracowników w zachowania związane z cyberloafingiem. Testując Ogólną Teorię Stresu, w badaniu wzięło udział 280 pracowników publicznych instytucji edukacyjnych w Indonezji. Wyniki wskazują, że konflikt ról może zwiększać stres zawodowy i cyberloafing, przy czym stres odgrywa znaczącą rolę w zwiększaniu cyberloafingu. Ważnym odkryciem tego badania jest to, że niejednoznaczność ról odgrywa kluczową rolę we wzmacnianiu zachowań związanych z cyberloafingiem. Badanie to zwraca szczególną uwagę na zarządzanie zachowaniami cyberloafingowymi, biorąc pod uwagę, że zachowanie to jest bardzo trudne do wykrycia. Ograniczenie cyberloafingu można osiągnąć poprzez ustanowienie jasnych standardowych procedur w miejscu pracy, aby zminimalizować niejednoznaczność ról. Kiedy pracownicy czują, że ich zadania są dobrze zdefiniowane, zachowanie to staje się stosunkowo łatwiejsze do kontrolowania. Wyniki tego badania zostaną wyjaśnione bardziej szczegółowo w dyskusji.
