Abstrakty
Building the Air Support Operation Centre is one of the Polish government priorities which aim at achieving organisational-functional structures compatibility with the European Union and NATO countries structures. In experts’ opinion, the condition to fulfil the expectations of air space users in the area of active and passive security improvement should be to build an integrated (civilian - military) air traffic management system, improving the quality of rendered air traffic services and automatisation of air traffic planning, co-ordination and control processes. Built at present National Air Support Operation Centre is to serve this aim. Building ASOC was initiated by the USA president Bill Clinton and it is financed by American government in the not repayable credit form. In the first version, suggested by the United States government, ASOC was to enable air traffic control through collecting, transforming and picturing information on air situation. Information on air situation will come from civilian and military 3D radar stations and from Air Support Operation Centres from Poland’s neighbour countries which were included into the programme. The possibilities to enlarge the system by additional information to enable automatic command of active combat means are currently discussed. ASOC seems to have a chance to be the only automatic system linking the functions of peace air space supervision and air defence conducting. Only peaceful use of ASOC in the air traffic supervision system has been presented in the article.
