EN

An operation aimed at saving a drowning person's life, irrespective of the conditions in which it is undertaken, will always carry traits of a problem situation. This is particularly evident in a situation of a rescuer’s direct contact with the victim. Diving with the purpose of reaching a drowned person or searching the bottom of a body of water involves the necessity of performing it on a single breath, which disturbs the natural functioning of an organism. How does this factor affect the efficiency of rescuer’s work? In order to investigate this matter a natural experiment was carried out on a single group consisting of participants of central training courses for the highest WOPR (Volunteer Water Rescue Service) rescue and instructor ranks. The research was implemented in the WOPR premises "Tama" at Rajgodzkie Lake, during an examination test. It involved comparing the efficiency of a standard rescue operation with that of a rescue operation which incorporated a problem situation – this being the performance of a single logical process at the depth of approximately 150 cm.

Akcja ratowania tonącego, niezależnie od warunków w jakich jest prowadzona, zawsze nosi znamiona sytuacji trudnej. Szczególnym jej przypadkiem jest sytuacja, w której dochodzi do bezpośredniego kontaktu z osobą zagrożoną. Nurkowanie w celu dopłynięcia do osoby utopionej lub przeszukiwanie dna odbywa się wówczas w warunkach bezdechu, co zakłóca normalne funkcjonowanie organizmu. Czy to utrudnienie wpływa na zmianę skuteczności działania ratowników ? W tym celu przeprowadzony został eksperyment naturalny techniką jednej grupy, z udziałem uczestników kursów centralnych na najwyższe stopnie ratownicze i instruktorskie WOPR. Badania przeprowadzono w ośrodku podlaskiego WOPR „Tama” nad jeziorem Rajgrodzkim, podczas testu egzaminacyjnego. Porównano skuteczność akcji ratunkowej o standardowym schemacie przebiegu z akcją ratunkową zawierającą element sytuacji trudnej – wykonanie na głębokości około 150 cm pod wodą prostej operacji logicznej.
