Metodę stosuje się do oznaczania stężeń 2-nitronaftalenu w powietrzu na stanowiskach pracy. Metoda polega na adsorpcji par 2-nitronaftalenu na sorbencie Amberlit XAD-2, desorpcji metanolem i analizie otrzymanego roztworu za pomocą wysokosprawnej chromatografii cieczowej z detekcją UV-VIS. Oznaczalność metody wynosi 0,25 g/m3.

Air samples are collected by drawing a certain volume of air through sorbent tubes filled with glass fibre filters followed by two sections of Amberlite XAD-2 resin. Glass fibre filter and the first section of resin are thereafter extracted with methanol by means of a rotary shaker. The resulting extracts are analyzed by high – performance liquid chromatography using ultraviolet detection ( = 213 nm). The determination limit of the method is 0.25 g/m3 for 400 l air sample.
