Celem artykułu była analiza gospodarki środkami Funduszu Ochrony Gruntów Rolnych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem lat 2004-2006. Jej podstawę stanowiły dane GUS-u publikowane w Rocznikach statystycznych rolnictwa i obszarów wiejskich. Artykuł opracowano posługując się metodą opisową, analizy ekonomicznej i analizy porównawczej.

The Fund for Agricultural Land Protection was established in 1982. The paper assesses its operational results in the years 2004-2006. Of importance, in the aforementioned period, was the fact that Fund’s receipts amounted to less than the calculated financial obligations from various sources. In addition, the level of the receipts paid into the Fund differed spatially. The tangible results of using the Fund’s financial resources include land reclamation, adaptation of wastelands and marshes to the requirements of agriculture, soil fertilization, removal of rocks and shrubs from soil as well as construction and upgrading of water reservoirs. Relatively limited results were achieved in the scope of preventing soil erosion and agricultural use of reclaimed areas. A large sum of the Fund’s financial resources were allotted to road building and repairs which were required for agricultural activities. The choice of road construction for financing by resources from the Fund arises controversy. In the examined period, the unit costs of works financed by the Fund quickly increased. This diminished the achieved results.
