Artykuł porusza problem złożonego i trudnego do ochrony dziedzictwa Bliskiego Wchodu. Obszar ten był kluczowy dla rozwoju ludzkości i odgrywał przez wieki znaczącą rolę. Tu rozwijały się wielkie starożytne cywilizacje i pojawiło się wiele zjawisk i wynalazków, które odmieniły losy człowieka. Jednocześnie region ten jest i był pełen sprzeczności i konfliktów, wpływających destrukcyjnie także na substancję zabytkową. Pojawia się zatem pytanie o działania ochronne i konserwatorskie na tym terenie i rolę międzynarodowego środowiska w ratowaniu dziedzictwa Bliskiego Wschodu, które jest zarazem dziedzictwem całej ludzkości.

The article discusses the problem of a complex heritage of the Middle East which is very difficult to protect. This area was for many centuries crucial for the development of mankind and in many periods has been taking a significant role. Middle East was the arena on which great ancient civilizations developed and a lot of phenomena and inventions appeared. Many of them changed the fate of man. At the same time, the region is and was in the past full of contradictions and conflicts, also destructively affecting its historical substance. Therefore, there is still present the question about heritage protection and conservation activities in this area and the role of the international groups of professionals in saving the heritage of the Middle East, which is also without doubts the heritage of all humanity.
