W przypadku alternatywnych naturalnych lub syntetycznych czynników chłodniczych stosuje się szczególne wymogi dotyczące budowy wymienników ciepła i ich rur miedzianych. Jeśli zostaną one spełnione, zapewniona zostaje nie tylko większa wydajność wymiany ciepła, ale też potrzebna jest mniejsza całkowita ilość chłodziwa.
