Abstrakty
Podstawowym szkolnym błędem popełnianym przez wielu jest utożsamianie właściwości poli(chlorku winylu) z właściwościami VC-monomeru do jego produkcji oraz chloru. Szczególnie do dziennikarzy - nawet o technicznym profilu zainteresowań - nie dociera fakt, że cząsteczki łącząc się w inne związki chemiczne zmieniają swe właściwości. Utożsamianie PVC z chlorkiem winylu ma tyleż samo sensu ile miałoby alarmowanie o szkodliwości poliwęglanów ze względu na fakt, że synteza 1 mola bisfenolu A wymaga 1 mola fosgenu, bardzo przecież szkodliwego. Podobnie, wytwarzanie poliuretanów i olefin (tu: zawierające Cl katalizatory) zależy od chemii chloru.
