Inteligentne zarządzanie miastem z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych systemów informatycznych leży u podstaw koncepcji Smart City. Ich zastosowanie w projektach inteligentnego zarządzania transportem (ITS) nie tylko ogranicza poziom kongestii, ale w konsekwencji kształtuje zrównoważony rozwój miasta (ITS-driven sustainable city development). Rola jakości ITS w rozwoju miast UE została dostrzeżona przez Komisję Europejską rekomendującą sposoby ich projektowania i implementacji. Szczególnie interesujące dla tego rozwiązania jest zastosowanie cloud computing. Na tym tle zaprezentowano wyniki badania statutowego SGH z 2012 roku analizującego zakres i cel wdrażania projektów ITS w polskich miastach.

Intelligent management of the city with the use of modern information systems is the basis of the concept of Smart City. IT use for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) not only reduces the level of congestion, but as a consequence shapes the sustainable development of the city (ITS-driven sustainable city development). The role of the quality of ITS in UE urban development has been recognized by the European Commission recommending methods of its design and implementation. Of particular interest to this arrangement is the use of cloud computing model. Based on this background, the paper presents results of the research concerning the scope and purpose of the ITS projects’ implementation in Polish cities conducted in 2012 by Logistics Dept. in WSE.
