The mineral resources management in China : selected economic and socio-environmental aspects

The paper shows the current position of China as a world power in the field of mineral resources. The major products of the mineral sector are listed and the essential relationship between mining, society and inhabited environment is characterized numerically by comparison with analogous situation in Poland. Selected results of research on socio-environmental impacts of mining, including the revitalization of post-mining terrains, are presented based on publications of mainly Chinese authors.
