Reliable estimation of the bearing capacity of paper and board structures (e.g. flap boxes, SRP / RRP, etc.) is based primarily on a precisely identified set of strength parameters and an appropriate mathematical model with correctly formulated material constitutive equations. In this paper, techniques for selection of appropriate methods for identification of corrugated board material parameters are presented and discussed. This problem is particularly important in the case of strength tests of corrugated board, because in the laboratory the displacements and / or strains of board samples of various shapes and sizes are most often measured, and not directly the material parameters, that are determined a posteriori from mathematical equations. In addition, the constitutive description of corrugated board contains dozen material parameters, which makes it difficult to select the appropriate laboratory tests, necessary to determine them. In the previous articles of the series, issues related to the work conditions of board were discussed, the impact of material processing on the strength of board was examined and methods for testing the suitability of laboratory tests for identification based on sensitivity analysis were described. The current article examines the effectiveness of using optimization algorithms and inverse methods in the process of identification of corrugated board material parameters. The identification results for various combinations of laboratory tests were also compared and summarized.
