The article presents a short characteristics of three types of selected photographs on paper substrates invented in the second half of the 19th century (albumin, collodion, silver and gelatine). The article describes the problems related to filling losses in papers, which results from technology and techniques of photography making. The information contained in the article are observations and conclusions connected with the author’s practical activities in the field of conservation and restoration works over photographs that have been conducted for many years.

W artykule dokonano krótkiej charakterystyki trzech rodzajów wybranych fotografii na podłożach papierowych wynalezionych w II połowie XIX w. (albuminowa, kolodionowa, srebrowo-żelatynowa) oraz opisano problematykę związaną z uzupełnianiem ubytków w papierach, która wynika z technologii i techniki wykonania fotografii. Zawarte w artykule informacje stanowią obserwacje i wnioski związane z praktycznymi działaniami autora w zakresie prowadzonych od wielu lat prac konserwatorskich i restauratorskich nad fotografiami.
