Wymiernym efektem pracy jest m.in. opracowanie i implementacja kilku modeli materiałów o nieklasycznych właściwościach sprężysto-dyssypacyjnych. Dzięki swoim unikatowym własnościom, mogą być one m.in. wykorzystane do ochrony sejsmicznej mostów, wysokich budynków i masztów. W opracowaniu zaproponowano wiele struktur reologicznych, modelujących zjawiska przemiany martenzytycznej w stopach SMA.

The study deals with dynamic analysis of continuous systems described by non-classical constitutive relationships defining their elastic-dissipative properties. Characteristics of such systems are modelled using original rheological schemes. Mathematical description of these schemes requires application of the methods of non-smooth mechanics because the functionals of energy and dissipation are non-differentiable. The constitutive equations proposed in this study were formulated with the aid of the differential succession notion which is defined by the contingent derivative of multivalued mapping. With this approach it is possible to replace the variational description with the system of explicit differential equations. The differential description of the rheological schemes can be relatively easily applied to nu merical procedures solving initial-boundary-value problems. The commercial finite element pro gram ABAQUS was used for this purpose. This program with opened architecture allows for an implementation of user-defined algorithms for the integration of constitutive equations. Several non-classical material models were implemented by the author through specially developed user subroutines. The study was focused on two groups of non-classical elastic-dissipative materials. The first group includes Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs). SMAs materials are more and more frequently used in civil structures subjected to extreme dynamic loadings. Due to their unique properties, SMAs are used for seismic retrofit of bridges, tall buildings and masts. Various rheological schemes have been proposed in this study for Shape Memory Alloys representing the phenomenon of martensitic phase transformation. Moreover, the effects of internal sub-loops, locking and viscosity were also taken into consideration. Numerical results of dynamic analysis of simple structural elements made of SMAs are presented. A model of a cable-stayed steel bridge retrofitted with SMA dampers was also analysed. It is shown that the application of SMA dampers can reduce maximum vibrations and internal forces caused by seismic excitations. The second group of materials considered in this study are asphalt concrete mixtures. Rheological schemes suited for the modelling of permanent viscous and plastic deformations are presented. A new generalization of the classical viscoelastic Burgers model is presented with application to mechanistic design procedures, taking into account the plasticity phenomenon. The developed con stitutive relationships have been used for the dynamic FE analysis of flexible bituminous pavement under moving load. The results presented in this study show the differences in displacements, strains and stresses between the classical elastic and viscoelastic pavements and non-classical viscoelastic plastic pavement. The last chapter of the study contains proposals of further investigations using the method of rheological modelling. Moreover, generalizations of the principles and methods for non-mechanical physical systems are also provided.
