Anti-corrosion resistance is one of the requirements posed to the fasteners designed for timber structures. Ensuring proper protection against corrosion is important especially in the case of connections exposed to atmospheric conditions or aggressive environment. Development of protective coatings, especially in the case of timber screws, is very dynamic. It is worth recalling current standards concerning anti-corrosion requirements for fasteners designed for timber structures, especially that the said provisions include certain understatements and ambiguities.
