W artykule przedstawiono przegląd literatury na temat związanych z wiekiem zmian sprawności kierowców, w tym kierowców zawodowych, w zakresie cech warunkujących bezpieczne zachowanie w sytuacji ruchu drogowego. Badania dowodzą, ze sprawność psychofizyczna zmienia się istotnie wraz z wiekiem, aczkolwiek nie jest to jedyny wyznacznik zakresu i tempa zmian. Problem ten jest szczególnie ważny w przypadku kierowców zawodowych, zwłaszcza w kontekście podwyższenia wieku emerytalnego.

This article presents an overview of the literature on age-related changes in drivers' performance and their role in determining features of safe behaviour in traffic. Research shows that physical and mental efficiency vary significantly with age, although this is not the only determinant of the extent and pace of change. This problem is particularly important in the case of professional drivers, especially m the content of an extended retirement age.
