Artykuł przedstawia metodę eksploatacji częściowej w rejonie filara ochronnego ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ochrony powierzchni terenu. Metoda oparta jest na systemie drążenia długich wyrobisk eksploatacyjnych z pozostawionymi między nimi filarami węglowymi („continuous miner” oraz „krótkie ściany”). Wielkość filarów węglowych oraz szerokość drążonych wyrobisk była tak dobierana aby spełnić wymagania dotyczące I kategorii terenu górniczego oraz aby utrzymać długotrwałą stabilność filarów między-chodnikowych. W celu określenia oczekiwanych deformacji powierzchni zastosowano teorię Knothego. Przedstawiony system może być z powodzeniem również zastosowany do eksploatacji małych nieregularnych parcel górniczych.

The study outlines the partial mining method to be applied in the neighbourhood of the protective pillars, the main objective being surface protection. The method involves driving long headings, leaving coal pillar between them (“continuous miner” and “short walls” systems). The size of the coal pillars and the width of headings being driven such be precisely controlled such that the requirements set forth for mine areas of category I should be met and that the long-term pillar stability should be maintained. Knothe’s theory is applied to find the predicted surface deformation profiles. The proposed system might be well applied to mining operations continued on small, irregular mining plots.
