Micro environment of Polish SME’s and their innovation acitivity

Abstrakty
Celem niniejszych rozważań jest zbadanie zależność miedzy elementami mikrootoczenia a aktywnością innowacyjną polskich małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (MŚP). Mikrootoczenie opisano za pomocą pięciu sił konkurencyjnych M.E. Portera. Aktywność innowacyjną utożsamiono z wprowadzeniem innowacji produktowych, procesowych, organizacyjnych i marketingowych. Badania przeprowadzono na reprezentatywnej próbie 250 MŚP. Weryfikacji hipotez dokonano w oparciu o korelacje. Wyniki wskazują na istnienie pozytywnej, lecz słabej, zależność między konkurencją w sektorze oraz aktywnością innowacyjną dostawców a aktywnością innowacyjną MŚP.
The aim of these considerations is to examine the relationship between the elements of micro environment and the innovation activities of Polish small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs). Micro environment is described by the Porter’s Five Forces Framework. Innovation activity was identified as the introduction of product, process, organizational and marketing innovations. The research was carried out on a representative sample of 250 SMEs. Verification of the hypotheses was made by correlation analyzes. The results indicate the existence of a positive, but weak, dependence between competition in the sector and supplier’s innovative activity and innovative activity of SMEs.
