Qualitative concept of describing the type-approval requirements for vehicle headlights

EN

Technical conditions for type approval system for headlighting consist of photometrical requirements of components (headlamps) and requirements concerning installation on vehicle, the initial setting and the tolerances of leveling. Also the light sources are standardized. These requirements has been adapted to the technical conditions in the period of its creation and contains many simplifications. There was paraboloidal design of headlamp and double filament incandescent bulb. The article analyzes these factors and their impact on the quality of lighting. It is proposed the new concept of requirements defining in a way that directly refer to the characteristics of the road illumination regardless of the design of the headlamp or light source used while maintaining the highest standards of modern halogen technologies technology with the possibility of further development of this concept.

Warunki techniczne systemu homologacji typu dla oświetlenia reflektorowego składają się m.in. z wymagań fotometrycznych, dotyczących podzespołów (reflektorów) oraz wymagań dotyczących instalacji opisujących zamocowanie reflektora na pojeździe, ustawienie początkowe i tolerancje poziomowania. Także źródła światła są znormalizowane. Sposób definiowania tych wymagań zawiera wiele uproszczeń, gdyż został dostosowany do możliwości technicznych panujących w okresie jego tworzenia, które wyznaczała konstrukcja paraboloidalna z żarówką dwuwłóknową. W artykule przeanalizowano te uwarunkowania i ich wpływ na jakość oświetlenia drogi. Zaproponowano nową koncepcję definiowania wymagań w sposób bezpośrednio nawiązujący do właściwości oświetlających, niezależnie od konstrukcji reflektora ani zastosowanego źródła światła, przy zachowaniu najlepszych standardów współczesnych technologii halogenowych, z możliwością dalszego rozwoju tej koncepcji.
