The article provides a detailed literature analysis of CO2/CH4 exchange sorption in hard coal and sorption in coal material under confining pressure. The study of CO2/CH4 exchange sorption and sorption in hard coal under confining pressure, as two separate research directions, is relatively well recognized and continues to be implemented worldwide. The combination of both directions of research is a completely unrecognized phenomenon. The main causes of the lack of research on the phenomenon of exchange sorption under the conditions of the loaded sorbent are huge metrological difficulties. An attempt to research the CO2/CH4 exchange sorption in coal material under confi ning pressure will be taken at The Strata Mechanics Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
