W artykule omówiono podstawowe rodzaje manekinów termicznych i przykładowe ich zastosowania m.in. w sporcie i rekreacji, do badania palności odzieży, do oceny klimatu pomieszczeń, w tym także w pojazdach. Wskazano kierunki rozwoju konstrukcji manekinów termicznych, w najnowszej generacji istnieje możliwość matematycznego modelowania komfortu cieplnego człowieka w różnych warunkach środowiska.

Basic kinds of thermal manikins and their hypothetical applications are presented; for instance in sport and recreation, for studying flammability of clothing, for assessing indoor climate, including that in vehicles. Directions in the development of the construction of manikins are presented. In their latest generation, it is possible to mathematically model human thermal comfort in different environmental conditions.
