W artykule przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia z obszaru psychologii transportu i ruchu drogowego, którym aktualnie poświęca się najwięcej uwagi w dyskusjach i badaniach międzynarodowych, a mianowicie: (1) szkolenie kierowców, ocena ich umiejętności i przyznawanie praw jazdy, (2) kierowcy młodzi i starsi wiekiem oraz (3) edukacja i marketing w obszarze brd. Zainteresowanie tą problematyką znalazło odzwierciedlenie w tematyce sesji plenarnych, paneli dyskusyjnych i prezentacji wyników badań przedstawionych podczas 6 Międzynarodowej Konferencji Psychologii Ruchu Drogowego i Transportu ICTTP 2016, która odbyła się w dniach: 2 - 5 sierpnia 2016 roku w Brisbane, w Australii. Konferencja była okazją do podsumowania dotychczasowych wyników Kampanii pn.: Dekada działań na rzecz bezpieczeństwa na drogach 2011 - 2020, na półmetku jej realizacji. Wnioski sformułowane na zakończenie konferencji dotyczące stanu bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego i transportu na świecie określiły najważniejsze kierunki dalszych działań i badań stanowiących szczególne wyzwanie zarówno dla badaczy jak i praktyków z tego obszaru.

The article presents some selected issues from the psychology of transport and traffic, which at present occupy a central place in discussions and international studies, e.g.: (1) driver training, assessment and licensing, (2) young/older drivers and (3) road safety education and marketing. Interest in this issue was reflected in the topics of plenary, panel and oral presentation sessions during the 6th International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology (ICTTP), which was held on 2-5 August 2016 in Brisbane, Australia. The conference was an opportunity to summarize the results of the Campaign UN Decade of Action for Road Safety: The Half-way Point 2011 - 2020. Conclusions drawn at the end of the conference on the status of road safety and transport in the world have identified the most important directions for further action and research which pose a particular challenge for both researchers and practitioners in this area.
