Recent years have brought increased popularity of streaming video technology based on the HTTP protocol. The growing number of recipient of such services is the cause of the increased importance of the following issues: the choice of the proper gradation of encoding parameters inside redundant representation of video content and the impact of competition for network resources among individual streams on QoE metrics. The paper presents the method of selection of the SVC stream structure to optimize the grading changes of video parameters in DASH services and thereby reduce the influence of the adaptation process on the quality of received multimedia content.
