Cooperating with reliable suppliers enhance the competitive advantage in business. Unfortunately, partners do not always achieve high performance, what can affect the supply chain performance and be the cause of different disturbances. The paper presents supplier improvement issue and results of the conducted at the end of 2013 in Poland survey. The research shows that companies operating in the B2B market perform many activities in the field of improvement of suppliers. They focus especially on detailed assessing, transferring knowledge and involving suppliers in product development.

Współpraca z niezawodnymi dostawcami wpływa pozytywnie na budowanie przewagi konkurencyjnej przez przedsiębiorstwa. Niestety, partnerzy nie zawsze skutecznie osiągają stawiane im cele, co może oznaczać pojawianie się zakłóceń w łańcuchach dostaw. Artykuł prezentuje zagadnienie doskonalenia dostawców i wyniki badania przeprowadzonego w tym zakresie pod koniec 2013 roku w Polsce. Wskazują one, że przedsiębiorstwa funkcjonujące na rynku B2B w Polsce realizują wiele działań ukierunkowanych na doskonalenie dostawców. Koncentrują się szczególnie na przeprowadzaniu szczegółowej oceny dostawców, transferowaniu wiedzy i wczesnym włączaniu dostawców w rozwój produktów.
