One of the fundamental problems in computer graphics is the method of storing and transmitting graphical images. The method of image stonng should enable farthful reproduction of the original. Another crucial point in graphics storing is the size of a graphics file, and consequently the speed of its retrieval and transmission. Out of numerous graphics formats the authors have chosen for comparison the commonly used standards: BMP PCX, GIF, D)(F. The selection critena were possible applications and populanĘ among users.
