Głównym celem niniejszego artykułu jest prezentacja zastosowania jednej z metod wyceny dóbr nierynkowych - metody wyceny warunkowej (contingent valuation method CVM) do oszacowania korzyści płynących z poprawy z wody kranowej oraz wód powierzchniowych w Polsce - oraz analiza czynników wpływających na tę wycenę.

While application of the non-market valuation methods is quite common in Western Europe and in the USA, its use in Central and Eastern Europe is in preliminary phase. This paper discusses' the use of the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) and Random Utility Model (RUM) to assess the benefits of Improvement of tap and surface water quality in Poland. The survey was conducted face-to-face in the respondents homes in 2007. Overall, 813 people, representative of the adult urban population, were interviewed. Results Indicate that improvements in water quality are highly valued, at 21 PLN and 14 PLN per month per household, for tap and surface water, respectively.
