W przeszłości dzieci poniżej 16. roku życia zniechęcano do noszenia soczewek kontaktowych. Jednak obecnie, dzięki lepszej konstrukcji soczewek, dogodniejszym materiałom i dostępności soczewek jednodniowych, młode osoby z wadami wzroku mogą spodziewać się większej zachęty do spróbowania tej metody korekcji – ale czy rzeczywiście będzie im ona proponowana? W artykule tym, poza przeglądem dowodów z badań naukowych wskazujących na to, że noszenie soczewek kontaktowych może mieć zasadniczy wpływ na życie młodszych pacjentów, przeprowadzono analizę możliwości, jakimi dysponują zarówno specjaliści, jak i młodzi pacjenci.
