Abstrakty

EN

Effective prestressing of the structure can be achieved by using very high-strength steel. Prestressing steel is characterized by high tensile strength, the lack of a defined yielding point, much smaller deformability and slightly lower modulus of elasticity than mild steel, relatively low relaxation, good fatigue resistance and high sensitivity to corrosion and temperature influence. In the article the design model of prestressing steel, given in Eurocode 2, is presented. In particular, the importance of proper consideration of relaxation losses in prestressing steel is highlighted.
