Artykuł odnosi się do kwestii zanieczyszczeń atmosfery wywoływanych przez emisje spalin statkowych. Obecnie największym problemem są stale rosnące emisje CO2 oraz związków siarki. Unia Europejska działając zgodnie z postanowieniami Konwencji MARPOL wprowadziła Dyrektywy Antysiarkowe. Artykuł przedstawia uwarunkowania implementacji tych zapisów. Odniesiono się w nim do kwestii wynikających ze specyfiki alternatywnych paliw okrętowych, a także uwarunkowań technicznych, infrastrukturalnych i ekonomicznych.

Article refers to the issue of air pollutions caused by exhaust emissions of maritime ship. Currently, the biggest problems are constantly increasing emissions of CO2 and sulphur compounds. The European Union acting in accordance with the provisions of the MARPOL Convention. Consequently European Union introduced Anti Sulphur Directives. The article presents the most important determinants of implementation of this legislation. The document addresses the issues arising from the nature of alternative marine fuels, as well as of technical, infrastructural and economic aspects.
