A trend to replace a term descriptive geometry by a term engineering geometry and graphics has been observed for the last few years. Changes of designations of departments in the majority of technical universities and coming into existence of Polish Society of Engineering Geometry and Graphics are direct reflexes of this phenomenon. In the paper a trial of a definition of the term engineering geometry and graphics has been undertaken. The Authors opinion about necessary directions of an evolution of curriculum of the abovementioned subject is presented.
