Światowa Organizacja Zdrowia (World Health Organization, WHO) prowadzi w skali międzynarodowej działania mające na celu osiągnięcie przez wszystkich ludzi na świecie możliwie najwyższego poziomu zdrowia. Z realizacją powyższego celuzwiązana jest problematyka zarządzania informacją i wiedzą w zakresie nauk biomedycznych i zdrowia publicznego. W strukturze WHO za całokształt prac związanych z tym zagadnieniem odpowiedzialny jest Department of Knowledge Management and Sharing, którego integralną częścią jest Biblioteka Library and Information Network for Knowledge. W artykule, poza Biblioteką, przedstawiono międzynarodowe programy WHO wspierające zarządzanie informacją i wiedzą w obszarze zainteresowań Organizacji: Supply of Medical Literature, Interantional Health Literature Exchange, Health Literature Services, ExtraMed, Blue Trunk Library, HINARI, Global Health Library.

The World Health Organization (WHO) makes efforts on an international scale to help people achieve the highest possible level of health. The accomplishment of this objective is related to the issue of managing information and knowledge in the field of biomedical sciences and public health. The WHO Department of Knowledge Management and Sharing, whose part is Library and Information Network for Knowledge, carries out the tasks related to this topic. The article presents the Library and WHO international programs supporting the management of information and knowledge within the interests of the Organization: Supply of Medical Literature, International Health Literature Exchange, Literature Health Services, ExtraMed, the Blue Trunk Library, HINARI, Global Health Library.
