Aby wybrać odpowiednie kierunki działania, ważne jest najpierw określenie pozycji strategicznej przedsiębiorstwa, w tym pozycji technologicznej. Bardzo pomocnym narzędziem do tego działania jest matryca 3x3. Matryca ta pokazuje zależność pomiędzy możliwościami technologicznymi przedsiębiorstwa a jego pozycja na rynku. Wprowadzono jednak zmianę dotyczącą skali wykorzystywanej w matrycy. W praktyce oznacza to, że wśród czynników mogą się znaleźć zarówno te, które pozytywnie wpływają na firmę, ale także te, który mają na nią negatywny wpływ. Okazało się, że badane przedsiębiorstwo kurierskie znalazło się w polu „szukaj okazji", co oznacza potrzebę poszukiwania poprawy obu grup czynników.

To choose good strategy it is important to check first the strategic position of the company, including the technological position. The 3x3 matrix is very useful tool to do so. This matrix shows the relation between technological possibilities of the company and its position in the market However, change concerning the scale used in the matrix was introduced. In practice, this means that among the factors both, those that have a positive impact on the company, but also those that have a negative impact on It, can be included. It turned out that the research courier services company was in the field "Search for the occasion," which means the need to seek the improvement of the two groups of factors.
