Najbardziej optymalną metodą budowy 14-kilometrowego odcinka rurociągu DN900 z Jemgum do miejscowości Oude Statenzijl przy granicy niemiecko-holenderskiej była metoda HDD. Szczególnie wymagającą częścią projektu był około 6-kilometrowy odcinek, który można było realizować tylko w okresie od 15 lipca do 30 września. W tej sekcji wykonano cztery instalacje HDD o długościach od 1160 do 1716 m.

The underground gas tank in eastern Friesland is connected both with the German and Dutch gas network. In spring 2012 it was resolved to construct a 14 km DN900 gas line to Oude Statenzijl located by the German border. Thanks to this, the underground gas storage facility was connected to the European network in order to serve as a repository for gas coming from Russia and the North Sea. Due to the area-specific environmental requirements, almost the entire pipeline was installed excavation-free.
