The results of experimental studies on heat transfer in air and water flow through the channel filled with metal foam alloy of FeCrAlY (FEC) were presented. The impact of foam on the intensity of heat exchange between the heated wall and the fluid was described. The differences in the efficiency of heating the gas and liquids through the metal foam were shown. During the air flow, filling the channel allows to heat the fluid to a clearly greater extent than in the channel without filling, and increase in the efficiency of heating compensates for the increased energy inputs on pumping the air. During the liquid flow, the presence of foam helps to reduce the wall temperature.
