The paper presents test results of ferritic ductile iron EN-GJS-400-15 Grade (according to PN¬EN 1563:2000 standard) manufactured within industrial environment. Properly prepared and performed physical-chemical processes enabled to obtain suitable structure and mechanical properties of castings to automotive applications, fulfilling requirements of domestic and foreign customers. There were performed in wide range tests of effect of low temperatures (from -60 °C to 20 °C) on work-of-fracture and impact strength of specimens without notch, with U-notch, and specimens with F-notch. On base of performed analysis of obtained work-of-fracture results and impact strength as well as performed the least-squares approximation, it has been demonstrated that decrease of temperature of the specimens below 0 °C reduces significantly plasticity of ferritic ductile iron.
