EN

The use of AVO method (amplitude variation with offset) started in the 1970s to exploration of gas. This method belongs to the groups of new methods called 'seismic lithologic'. AVO is the new tool of sei¬smic, such as analysis of seismic reflection amplitude, inversion before and after stacking and analysis of thin beds. The AVO is the method that is used before stacking to common-midpoint (CMP) data. Most often uses AVO for sandstone collectors in regions where changes of amplitude of type bright-spot appears. In this case AVO allows differ the amplitude anomaly caused with saturation with gas from amplitude changes caused with other factor e.g. with occurrence of coal. Methods AVO are not used in case of researches of oil. In this paper were presented the examples of use method AVO with 2D and 3D seismic for miocen deposits. Interpreting gas field: Dąbrówka. Grądy Bocheńskie. Szczepanów, Borek. Positive results encourage using this method to exploration of new deposits.
